August events in SF and Los Alamos need support

The LANL Working Group of Occupy Santa Fe, working in conjunction with
other committed local activist groups and individuals as Nuke Free Now,
needs your support for the August events in Santa Fe and Los Alamos.

On Saturday August 4th we will host a series of panels and speakers at CCA
in Santa Fe, as well as small film festival.  Sunday August 5th and Monday
August 6th will see events in Los Alamos. Sunday will involve speakers and
music in Ashley Pond Park in Los Alamos and a march to LANL. Monday will
involve a march and action organized by UnOccupy Albuquerque.

Speakers will be both local and national. For example, we have invited
national activists and writers to speak on the subject of movement building
and what is possible for a people’s movement. What will it take to end the
nuclear weapons industry and how can we make that happen as soon as
possible?

This education and inspiration will be vital to growing our movement and
raising awareness about LANL and the nuclear weapons industry.

Outreach has gone out around the country and support is growing. We already
have $3000 that has been pledged to us in matching funds by a local donor.

However, in order to reserve the CCA and confirm speakers from around the
country, we need to raise about $8000 total. And we need to raise this
money quickly.

Please support this effort in any way you can – any amount of donation will
be very gratefully received. And please pass on this information to any
friends or organizations you know who would like to support the effort.

Veterans for Peace Santa Fe are fiscal sponsors for this event and so any
donations made in support of this are tax-deductible.
